AVT-822

CAN (J1939) & J1708 Controller or Embedded Controller or "Your Project" board.

Originally designed as a special unit for one customer. Code was developed to monitor J1939 for specific data, change digital outputs accordingly, generate specific J1939 messages and data in accordance with certain digital inputs. Included a J1708 interface. Plenty of memory and I/O to grow.  Several hundred were built; but the original customer purchased fewer than 100 before they (apparently) went out of business.

The board uses the Motorola/Freescale/NXP MC9S12DG128CPVE microcontroller (with 2 CAN channels, 2 serial channels, 128K FLASH, 2K EEPROM, 8K RAM).  Also included on the board is the Intersil CS82C54Z Programmable Interval Timer (with 3 independent 16-bit counter / timers).  There are also 4 buffered digital inputs and 4 buffered digital outputs.

I've written a Hardware Description document with technical information about the hardware platform.  Also included is some information about the tools I used for software/firmware development.
AVT-822 Hardware Description document (PDF 1191 KBytes).

I have also posted the Interface Control Document (manual) for the firmware I developed for one customer.
AVT-822 ICD (PDF 143 KBytes).

Additional information may be available, on specific request.

These boards are priced to move quickly.

Available as board-only (no enclosure).
Status: In-stock.

USB Info

USB Information

The AVT-852 was the only USB product I offered.  It is no longer in production.

For all of our other serial hardware we have tested and recommend the following USB to serial converter.
It is very affordable and works very well with our RS-232 serial hardware.
